Your vehicle’s air-conditioning stopped working because of a freon leak or a bad compressor. While these might be the obvious reasons that the air-conditioner isn’t cooling inside the vehicle, it could also be anything as simple as a bad belt or a dirty cabin air filter. The most likely reason your AC isn’t working is because your vehicle’s AC started leaking. The car’s air-conditioning unit needs freon to lower the ambient air temperature which produces needed cold air. When you’ll need some refreshing cool air, it won’t be possible if the freon leak occurs. Another reason for your AC not blowing cold air is because your car is a hybrid. The AC system is powered by the engine, the AC won’t be receiving power if your car is in EV mode and the engine stops running.
If the air-conditioning is turned on and the fan isn’t working then there might be a defective AC fuse. Fuses help protect components of a car from a possible power surge and while it may just have to get repaired, however, if the AC fuse keeps popping then it’s likely there’s a larger issue at hand. For your air-conditioner to pump cold air inside your car, it needs to displace all the moisture it uses from outside and flows through the evaporator drain. This can also be caused by the AC Refrigerant amount being too low which leads to an overflow of condensation because the evaporator coils will start to freeze. You should also keep an eye out for faulty seals in the air-conditioning compartment or the air-conditioner’s air filters if this issue continues to happen.
